Advertising

As a High/End designer brand advertising needs to appeal to the correct market. Striking imagery is used to attract the eye to the poster, followed by the clear brand name.

four.and.three.quarters shoot was extremely successful. I would like to thank photographer Nicole and Model Isla for helping get such great results.

Styling for Photo Shoot

Embroidered clothes labels for four.and.three.quarters

Wildfox

Not only do I love these clothes but the styling and style of photograph is also inspirational. Wildfox were established in LA as a knitwear brand and have gone on to grow from there. The styling of lilac hair is eye catching and on trend. The enviable tan is in keeping with the lifestyle of LA and the knitwear is delicate and gorgeous.

Hair and Make Up

Hair and make up for the four.and.three.quarters campaign and look book shoot will be kept relatively natural in keeping with the style of the garments however a swept back style for the hair will create a clean look. Special attention will also be payed to eyebrows. The bushier the better!

Linings

Toiles of combined facing for long garment. This combined facing creates neat edges at the arm holes and the neck line. As the garments are made of knit which has a certain amount of stretch, a fabric with an equal or similar amount of stretch is needed for the facing. Viscose has been chosen as is it is knitted and has more stretch than a regular jersey. The reason why the same knit as is on the outer is not appropriate is that stocking stitch rolls and would not sit flat, it is also too bulky to be used for a lining.

Packaging

Packaging is going to be made from natural products in the same way the garments are. Both this box and CD cover are recycled. They will be emblazoned with the four and three quarters logo to brand them in a striking way.

Designs

Final Designs for the S/S13 collection. They combine a fine merino knit and hand made porcelain studs.

rag & bone promotion

This simple advertising compliments the aesthetics of the clothing brand rag and bone. The clothing label which has been painted on this wall is effective and striking without being garish.

Typography and Logo

The circle, square and triangle in this logo are the shapes of the porcelain studs which embellish the knitted garments in this collection.

Having purchased luxury Cashwool, the time came to knit up pieces of fabric.

Many thanks to Dianne Bunyan who knitted up my fabric for me!

Dianne ran her own business selling knitted ballet clothing. She was a wizz on the knitting machine and I learnt a lot from her.

Materials

Merino CashWool

Fleece from pure bred merino sheep are considered to be the finest of all sheeps wool. It is spun from the super fine fleece of Merino Sheep, originally from Spain, and is very soft.

Porcelain

The strongest and lightest form of clay.

The High End/Designer brand four.and.three.quarters presents a collection of dresses. Made from luxurious Cashwool, each garment is adorned with glazed porcelain studs. As gravity takes its toll on the knitted fabric, innovative shapes and silhouettes which would traditionally be achieved through pattern cutting are created.
